DANI'S CHINESE ORIENTATION

Dani's wearing a Chinese robe which originally belonged to her brother, Lacocoon Dante.  It's a bit large for her, but she's still growing so it's good that it's roomy.

The robe is absolutely gorgeous in black satin with gold embroidered Chinese dragons.  The cuffs and collar are completely gold-coloured, as are the fasteners on the back.  Normally such fasteners are functional as well as being decorative, but here they serve solely to enhance the beauty of the garment.

I found this information about "frog fasteners" on the internet:

"A frog fastener (also Chinese frog) is an ornamental braiding, consisting of a button and a loop, for fastening the front of a garment. The purpose of frog fasteners is to provide a decorative closure for a garment; frog fasteners are usual to garments of Asian design."

 FASTENating, isn't it?

Dani's hat, though not Chinese, feels in harmony with the outfit as a whole.  It is a woven black pillbox shape adorned with gold ribbons.  Her bracelet is actually made of black and gold burnished buttons, and her clutch bag is also made of black satin, heavily embroidered in gold.

Dani's gold two-fish necklace is a Chinese symbol and here's what I found out about it:

"The Fish Symbol in Traditional Chinese Culture. ... Because the Chinese character for fish (yu 鱼) is pronounced the same as the Chinese character for surplus (yu 余), the fish symbol is frequently used to symbolize the wish for more in the sense of good luck, good fortune, long life, children, etc."

We always knew that fish was good for "yu", but Dani is really excited because the necklace seems to promise more of that good stuff.  Dani always likes more, especially when it comes to food.

"I'm food's biggist fan!" says Dani quite sincerely
